Position Details:

CSG is looking for a Financial Analyst II, Business Intelligence to ensure information from our financial planning software is consistent and accurate. This role assists in updating current BI tools and potential implementation of new BI tools, assisting with set up of new reports and reporting dashboards that will be utilized by senior management, along with on-going support to ensure data is consistent and accurate. Additional responsibilities include providing business owners (including Finance team members, executive management, product management, customer business units, sales enablement, and operations) support with financial modeling, analysis, and reporting, as well as participation in revenue and expense budgeting and forecasting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform required tasks for TM1 Enterprise Planning Application in order to ensure information is consistent and accurately represented for use by Finance and Accounting teams as well as business owners. Provide customer service-oriented guidance and training to finance users to enhance the efficiency and value of the information housed within the TM1 application. Collaborate with TM1 users to develop and test enhancements to TM1 to improve analysis and ensure accurate data
  • Assist in updating current BI tools (Oracle Business Intelligence) or potential implement of new BI tools (Microsoft Power BI or others decided by management) that will incorporate data from multiple data sources, including but not limited to assisting in building out new reporting dashboards and reports that will be utilized by senior management. Provide ongoing support needed to ensure that data in selected BI tool is consistent and accurate, when compared to multiple data sources utilized.
  • Provide financial business support, including financial modeling, reporting, analysis, and research. Identify business opportunities/risks through partnership with the business. Develop and create reporting packages that provide meaningful insight.
  • Allocation maintenance for Products and Customer Business Units. Review product and customer reporting, while working with business owners and finance team members to ensure revenue and expense are aligned.

Experience & Education:

  • 3+ years’ financial reporting and analysis experience
  • Previous business intelligence software experience (Oracle Business Intelligence, Power BI, or similar)
  • Previous financial planning system experience. IBM TM1 or IBM Planning Analytics preferred or similar FP&A software applications (Hyperion/Essbase, etc.)
  • Previous cost accounting and project costing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Strong PC skills are a must including spreadsheet and database packages with Oracle Financials, business intelligence tools, and industry standard budget and forecast applications. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, advanced functions, VLOOKUP etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to interpret financial concepts for financial planning and control        
  • Develops effective relationships with teammates and management. Must thrive in a collaborative and cooperative environment.
  • Assumes responsibility to ensure issues/concerns will be addressed and monitors them through acceptable conclusion.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and willing to learn and develop new skill sets as required.
  • Strong prioritization, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
