The Education Senior Accounting Analyst  is responsible for providing assistance with the financial close process, handling daily revenue and accounts receivable related transactions, and providing support to finance and operations as it relates to their accounting responsibilities.
An associate at this level is responsible for the reporting and analysis of a functional area and will produce or generate the communication and methodologies of this process for various clients. The associate will be able to perform ad hoc analysis as requested that are considered non-routine, and will assist managers for special projects or assignments. 
The associate is required to know and follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  Additional requirements include adherence to the Core Values of TD Ameritrade and high ethical standards.


  • Review and approve monthly education journal entries and supporting schedules for SAP, while adhering to the corporate close schedule.
  • Prepare monthly Oracle journal entries and worksheets for areas of responsibility in the organization, while adhering to the corporate close schedule.
  • Perform analysis of the P & L and B/S
  • Ensure revenue recognition is properly recorded
  • Opens and closes the accounting periods in SAP for GL, AR and AP
  • Calculates and analyzes estimated useful life and updates the table in SAP
  • Ensure compliance with pricing policies and GAAP
  • Prepare daily cash deposits and apply payments to customer accounts
  • Process  customer refund and referral payments
  • Resolve any payment issues while working with the operational teams
  • Monitor bank accounts for incoming wire transfers and apply payments
  • Review Compliance documentation included in workshop packages and track adherence to PCI compliance requirements
  • Monitor SAP error reports to identify contract errors/revenue recognition errors
  • Prepare weekly internal order data file for load into Oracle
  • Chairs bi-weekly QTC (quote to cash) meeting to ensure that all contact and revenue processes are operating properly and address issues or concerns with the SAP Support staff and members of other departments.
  • Document and test compliance with established Internal Controls (SAS 404) within time-sensitive deadlines
  • Coordinates audit requests for areas of responsibilities and assists management with internal and external audits
  • Verify compliance with corporate accounting policies, regulatory regulations and inter-company agreements


  • 4 Year College Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3-5 years related experience required
  • Requires attention to detail, independent work, self-reliance, and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Detail oriented
  • Requires ability to prioritize and multi-task, working within the time constraints set internally and by the various financial institutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to work with different levels of management.
  • Strong team player
  • Understanding of Accounting Principles and Internal Controls, specifically Deferred Revenue
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access skills are required
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle and Discoverer preferred
  • Ability to learn and use client-based and server applications (BOS)
  • Brokerage industry knowledge preferred
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
