Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking a Lead Actuarial Analyst to drive the business through support for the actuarial function and staff, related to data, systems, and operational services. This position performs the duties of actuarial financial and risk reporting through close attention to detail, documentation, and research/ analysis of data and results. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading some aspects of testing and analytical support for actuarial project work. The role provides analysis and resolves complex problems / issues on a timely basis, completely, and accurately. This position is for candidates who do not plan to pursue actuarial credentials through the SOA's actuarial exam process.

Essential Functions:

* Completely and Accurately perform established financial reporting processes on a timely basis
* Prepare and analyze reports and communicate appropriately to internal and external customers
* Access, retrieve, and analyze data from various systems; support fulfillment of ad hoc data requests
* Present new process and/or control enhancements
* Create and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with appropriate standards
* Develop and perform calculations using complex and less defined processes or adapting new processes
* Perform system analysis and requirement development
* Test/validate documented requirements and changes for actuarial software, data, and systems
* Work with actuarial associates to validate that test cases and test plans are comprehensive and complete
* Assist with development and maintenance of all actuarial databases by analyzing and validating data, assisting with data definitions, and documenting processes
* Analyze, execute, document, and provide input into regression testing processes and procedures
* Provide project and process oversight and facilitation as needed
* Follow change and project management protocol
* Identify, analyze, investigate, escalate, and track anomalies in data, reserves, and/or actuarial systems
* Work with internal associates, third parties, and vendors to ensure reporting requirements are met

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Insurance, or a related field)
* Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Responsible with a sense of urgency to deadlines and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
* Strong commitment to continuous improvement of processes to gain efficiency and provide better service
* Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a team environment with a positive attitude
* 2-4 years related experience

Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
