Position Description:
Provides support and assistance with all functions and efforts associated with contract management. The Contract Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of contract reimbursement, including obtaining, analyzing and maintaining all applicable payer contract specific information.

 

Job Responsibilities:
 
 1. Review and manage Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM), Commercial Health Plan,  Medicaid, Pharmaceutical Manufacturer/Trade and Managed Care contracts; including drafting, evaluation, negotiation and execution. 

2. Identify areas of possible risk and opportunity related to the application of contract clauses.

3. Develop and maintain appropriate contract schedules, files, documentation and tracking mechanisms and provide periodic reports to management and affected department on the current status of contracts under review.

4. Work closely with the VP of Compliance to provide redline recommendations; and at times, negotiate directly with customers until consensus is reached. 

5. Serve as point of contact for customers on contractual matters and as a liaison between customer and internal business units and cross-functional teams. 

6. Ensure timely and compliant execution of contracts. 

7. Work with the VP of Compliance to ensure that executed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide visibility and support implementation. 

8. Work with VP of Compliance to ensure contract close-out, extensions and renewals.  

9. Resolve issues as they arise throughout the life cycle of the contract. 

10. Assist with implementation of contract management principles throughout the organization. 

11. Collaborate across organizational disciplines. 

12. Assist in various projects and other duties assigned by manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:
-Experience with payer contract language and payment methodologies preferred.
-Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, pharmacy and PBM business environment is a plus.
-HIPAA trained and /or the ability to work with and protect extremely confidential patient and employee information. 

-Demonstrated success in working cross-functionally. 

-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software and use of Internet. 

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position.
