This position will join an Agile team responsible for the coordination and delivery of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association releases along with serving as the primary facilitation point for operational support of the HealthEdge platform including application and vendor integrations. In this position, you will be responsible for organizing and empowering an IT team of 5-7 members to reach their committed sprint goals. This solution-focused individual displays a servant leadership approach as they provide hands-on facilitation and coaching as well as seek and apply input from their assigned coach/mentor.

What you'll do:

  • Agile Project Management- Ensure the team is practicing the core agile principles of self-organization, collaboration, business prioritization, team accountability, and transparency, toward the consistent delivery of working product.
  • Servant Leadership – Apply practical tools of Servant Leadership as a way of influencing a high performing team. Be empowered and engaged. Mentor team members, celebrate teams successes. Identify impediments and work to resolve or escalate them.
  • Facilitate- Apply effective listening, questioning and information gathering techniques necessary for facilitating effective group collaboration sessions. Help the team come up with team norms and help/coach them to hold each other accountable. Participate and sometimes lead the Agile Project Management Community of Practice.
  • Communication- Make team and work progress visible via visual radiators and internal communication. Protect the team from outside distractions and interferences. Manage dependencies across teams; coordinate with other teams. Collaborate with manager on staff issues and provide feedback.
  • Must work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other teams and stakeholders within the organization.
  • Focus on process improvement opportunities and supporting the team in completing such efforts.
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters to ensure sharing of best practices. 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required in computer science, MIS or business administration or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of practical experience with medium to large IT teams
  • 1-2 years of experience coaching on Agile methodologies and teams   

The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:

 Insurance Industry experience

  • Scrum Master certification
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space, ex: Kanban
