Ameritas is seeking a Capital Planning and Analysis Manager who will proactively manage capital and align strategies and goals across finance, actuarial and risk and compliance functions.


Essential Functions

* Directs the development and maintenance of capital models for Ameritas -- AM Best, S&P, NAIC RBC, internally developed -- which includes helping set the overall capital targets each year.
* Reviews enterprise wide risk exposures, including: market risks; credit risks; insurance risks; risk adjusted returns; ALM; and liquidity risks. Documents key risks, measurements and management activities in each risk area and identifies areas of potential improvement in terms of measurement, quantification and mitigation of risks.
* Participates on various committees related to capital management and enterprise risk management.
* Performs the ongoing monitoring of capital levels by entity and enterprise level and analyzes the RBC impacts of potential actions.
* Develops complex financial models and enhance existing capital planning framework.

* Reviews rating agency models and works with outside analysts to resolve differences.
* Participates in the planning and forecasting process as appropriate.
* Provide analysis and challenge the financial plan and leading indicators to identify opportunities to enhance outcomes.
* Leads special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

* Minimum four-year business degree.
* 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in a life insurance company role. ASA, CFA or CPA preferred.
* General knowledge of various aspects of the insurance industry.
* In depth knowledge of enterprise financials, STAT and GAAP basis, rating agency capital models and the internal planning models utilized by the company.
* Detailed knowledge of industry financial risk management practices and rating agency risk management criteria.
* Excellent spreadsheet skills, including previous experience with Excel or equivalent software packages and aptitude for analysis.
* Great attention to detail and the ability and desire to learn new skills to support assigned projects.
* Good written communication skills and organizational ability.
