Sr. IT Manager - Infrastructure

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • With direction from Vice President of IT, develops and leads IT strategies for infrastructure that are in-line with business objectives and future requirements
  • Manage and ensure optimal design and operation of existing security, server and network environments
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure or renew infrastructure products and services
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on infrastructure products, services, protocols, and standards in support of infrastructure procurement and development efforts
  • Partner with business and IT application management to define solutions to opportunities and challenges
  • Oversee and facilitate infrastructure and security protocols, audits, and related questionnaires as needed
  • Keep policies up-to-date and enforced: including business continuity, security and standards
  • Work with senior technologists to architect quality technical designs
  • Establish policies and procedures to ensure:
  • Deliverables meet quality standards before deployment and production disruptions are minimized
  • Documentation generated to describe key components to improve maintainability, ensure all changes comply with established production change management controls
  • Changes released to production in orderly manner
  • Manage employee activities, make resource assignments, and address issues as they arise.
  • Work with employees to define professional goals and design appropriate development plans to achieve them
  • Lead and mentor subordinate staff
  • Assess employees, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct official performance reviews
  • Ensure training and back up documentation is up-to-date
  • Succession and skillset gap planning


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Ability to work and interact well with others
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 10 years of experience in the information technology field with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Prior management experience is required
  • Ability to scope, plan, and administer strategy and process for continuous improvement
  • Strong communications, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently with a sense of urgency
  • Experience leading larger projects involving multiple people
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
