Position Details:

CSG is looking to for a Tax Manager to join our Tax Leadership Team to manage CSG’s state tax group, state tax planning, state tax audits, global transfer pricing policy, and assist with federal tax and mergers & acquisitions. The Tax Manager will work with Tax Management, State Tax Auditors and Global Accounting and Finance Controllers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage state income tax provision, compliance, and audit functions including technical research of state tax issues as they arise
  • Manage sales and use tax compliance, audits and tax research, including state tax incentive plans
  • Manage global transfer pricing policy
  • Support federal income tax compliance and audit functions including technical research of federal tax issues as they arise
  • Provide federal and state merger & acquisition support
  • Manage implementation of state tax planning opportunities
  • Develop and mentor junior staff
  • Interact externally with multiple state tax jurisdiction authorities as well as external tax Service Providers
  • Interact internally with upper management individuals (Controllers, Finance Directors, etc.) from accounting, finance, treasury and legal to perform state tax duties and also to ensure the global transfer pricing policy of CSG is being maintained.  The incumbent will manage state tax staff and indirectly coordinate staff assigned to transfer pricing and other tax projects
  • Accountable for professional working behavior to include; building and maintaining constructive working relationships, implementing proactive and concise communication, acting as a resource to colleagues, and engaging in collaborative thinking and problem solving while demonstrating CSG’s core competencies and values

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 8 years of federal, state, and transfer pricing experience in a corporation and/or public accounting firm
  • Experience working with federal and state tax authorities on various audits
  • Experience with preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns, mergers & acquisitions, state tax planning and transfer pricing documentation
  • Experience with ASC 740 (GAAP tax accounting requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting required
  • Advanced Finance/Accounting degree preferred
  • CPA or JD designation preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities 

  • Comprehensive technical skills including:
    • Extensive state tax knowledge
    • Experience with federal and state audits
    • Working knowledge of Transfer Pricing Policies
    • Experience with State tax planning
    • Experience with mergers & acquisitions
  • Ability to communicate and interface with various departments including in-country finance teams, corporate finance, ops finance, treasury and legal
  • Strong technical skills and research abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Systems experience with Oracle or ONESOURCE, a plus
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment
