Ameritas is seeking a Commercial Mortgage Asset Manager who will be responsible for commercial mortgage loan origination and relationship management. Perform all aspects of loan portfolio management for the Commercial Mortgage division of Ameritas Investment Partners. Work with mortgage bankers within the Western U.S.A. territory to underwrite and close loans that provide Ameritas with solid yields and minimal losses. This role will involve approximately 25% travel.

Essential Job Functions:

* Primary contact for review, due diligence and recommendation of new mortgage loan opportunities ensuring compliance with all guidelines and policies; provide strategic management and assist in revisions of the mortgage portfolio
* Manage the loan rate lock and approval processes and required documentation; negotiate and coordinate the resolution of loan commitment letter comments through partnership with in-house legal counsel
* Review and approve all third-party due diligence reports and aid internal parties by facilitating a closed loan
* Track economic and real estate market data for use in decision making of new loan opportunities and portfolio management matters
* Provide supervision, training and career development of commercial mortgage loan analysts and participate in recruiting efforts as needed
* Provide recommendation of loan assumptions, modifications and related transactions; oversee due diligence required for these transactions
* Manage the mortgage loan portfolio within an assigned territory including active monitoring of loans, creating and delivering reports, property inspections, and review of annual operating statements and inspection reports and observe watchlist loans; manage all problem loan activity and provide strategic counsel for portfolio management issues

Requirements:

* 4+ years previous experience in commercial real estate mortgage origination required.
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant major, or equivalent amount of education and experience required.
* 25% travel within assigned territory required. Estimated travel would be two to three trips per month, each lasting one to three days. Approximate geographic territory U.S.A. west of Mississippi river.
* Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with mortgage bankers.
* Knowledge and experience with loan underwriting and transaction funding.
