Director of Tech Education

AIM is seeking a candidate to be responsible for the coordination, management, and performance of AIM Tech Education Programs.  This includes oversight of the AIM Code School, AIM Brain Exchange, and the AIM Youth in Tech Programs.  May also include management of leadership classes and other high-profile events.  The focus for this position is the strategic organization and leadership of a team to fulfill the purpose and success of AIM's Tech Education programs while also building and maintaining relationships within the community. In this position, you can expect to be motivating a team towards success and also meeting with potential students and employers at events, schools, and conferences. 

Our ideal candidate is an individual who is proficient with technology, has a background in education leadership, and/or has experience with curriculum development and program evaluation.  This person should be familiar with the mission of AIM and have a passion for advancing and connecting students of all ages with tech. They may also have experience in academic administration, recruiting or working with students, or building and motivating a team. They live AIM's virtues of being bold, engaging, supportive, and tech-savvy.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Team Manager

  • Develop and manage a team to support AIM's tech education programs which include student recruitment, student placement, instructing, and marketing efforts for the AIM Code School
  • Utilize team strengths to strategize, innovate, and meet monthly metrics
  • Coordinate and strategize with Sr. Director of Educational Programs on hiring decisions and needs
  • Provide team with regular feedback to promote improvement and alleviate weak points
  • Monitor team performance for opportunities for growth
  • Coordinate with course instructors on scheduling needs and anticipated courses
  • Help Team develope and implement cutting edge technology curriculum for students age 4 through adult learners
  • Act as a positive influence and a leader within the company through your actions

AIM Code School Management and Administration

  • Ensure that all the processes associated with AIM Code School operations are followed
  • Determine financial aid options
  • Ensure that all website content is up-to-date
  • Coordinate/schedule monthly Info Sessions and/or Workshops
  • Ensure that the AIM Code School Course Calendar is always updated and advertised online with at least 6-month lead
  • Ensure that front-line monitoring and response to online reviews and posts from current and potential students and employers are done
  • Lead conceptual thinking and execution of AIM Code School Product Roadmap -- strategizing, budgeting, and growing the community/revenue
  • Write and/or finalize outgoing communications to students and potential employers on behalf of AIM Code School alongside the marketing team
  • Manage the creation and dissemination of content onto critical social platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn- live feeds alongside the marketing team for AIM Code School
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Ensure that all AIM Code School vendors are engaged and taken care of at all times
  • Develop outreach tools and collateral with the Marketing Team
  • Consistently process and evaluate data for maximum impact 

AIM Brain Exchange / Youth In Tech Management and Administration

  • Ensure that all the processes associated with the AIM Brain Exchange and Youth In Tech Programs operations are followed
  • Help expand the program to new consumers including new schools and community partners
  • Ensure that all curriculum is age-appropriate and effective 
  • Help identify funding opportunities for Brain Exchange / Youth in Tech Programs 
  • Help the grants team write annual reports on the progress of the Youth in Tech Programs 
  • Consistently process and evaluate data for maximum impact 

Student Recruitment/Placement and Outreach

  • Manage the efforts of the Student Recruiting Specialist and Student Placement Specialist and monitor their research placement opportunities to ensure continual progress
  • Generate and maintain relationships within the community and connect businesses and potential partnerships with AIM Code School opportunities
  • Attend and host fairs, conferences, and events to educate the community on AIM’s mission and opportunities with the AIM Code School 
  • Maintain a positive culture and environment - communicate and advocate for the AIM brand

Other Duties as Assigned

 

Education and Experience:  

  • Masters Degree in Education Administration, Education, Educational Technology or related field (preferred)
  • Nebraska or Iowa Teaching Certificate (preferred)
  • BS/BA in business, technology, communications, education, or related field (required)
  • At least 5 years' of full-time professional business, technology, communications, school administration, or relevant field experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in coordinating, supervising, and mentoring a team
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  

  • Strong writing, public relations, and communication skills
  • Creative thinking and ability to strategize
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly organized and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Expertise in Google Suite
  • Experience in Wordpress strongly preferred
  • Ability to create new work processes
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and mediation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Must work well independently and be able to coordinate time efficiently
  • Strong drive to innovate, strategize, and strive for results
