Provide leadership and direction to the Technical Operations team members. Responsible for the implementation, execution, and administration of middleware technologies, automation platforms, and release management. Follows industry best practices to help grow and mature culture of automation and automated deployments. Regularly measures and reports on key performance metrics to leadership. Provide guidance and direction in creating and managing budgets, policies, and procedures to support the related technologies. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with leaders and key software vendors.

Job Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Provides leadership to a team that supports middleware technologies like Web Services, MQ Support, HIS Support, Web Logic, and other enterprise middleware technologies.
  • Responsible for managing the automation platform toolsets
  • Provides guidance to ensure an enterprise automation culture is matured using enterprise automation tools across all IT teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices for comparison to current enterprise state to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for managing release management, maturing processes and leveraging automated approaches.

Leadership responsibilities:

Optimization

  • Responsible for establishing and reporting on goals, strategies, key performance metrics, and plans necessary to execute the strategy and to maximize the value of technology.
  • Determine, manage, and forecast resource needs and availability.
  • Track projects, resources, and report current status and project forecasts to leadership regularly.
  • Ensure that budget expenses are regularly tracked, operational expenses are minimized, and capital investments are utilized effectively and efficiently.
  • Complete and/or recommend salary administration for team members in accordance with procedures.

  • Ensure that day to day operational needs and projects are equally met to timely serve the current and future needs of our teammates and customers
  • Understands and anticipates needs and takes action to provide high quality products and services to exceed their expectations

  • Develop team members through coaching, training and development, opportunities, and on-going performance feedback, including timely follow-up on individual development plans; counsel team members on performance issues.
  • Responsible for attracting, selecting, and on-boarding a diverse and qualified team and determining the appropriate team resource requirements to meet the strategic direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least a bachelor's degree in a related field or 7+ years of technical experience managing and maintaining large and complex IT services. Expert knowledge in automation technologies, methods, and processes. 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in middleware development, automation tools, integration, or complex distributed applications.  Experience in leading large complex projects and teams. Experienced managing monitoring technologies, automation toolsets, scripting languages, web services, and other enterprise tools preferred. Certifications such as MCSE, ISA CAP, CISSP preferred.
