Job Summary: Under general supervision of the Director of Research and the Director of the POWER Laboratory, the Associate Director of Physical Rehabilitation performs work of unusual difficulty in the design, development, and coordination of clinical programs to support individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. The position will also support research initiatives across the organization that require expertise in rehabilitation sciences.


  • Coordinates the clinical programs in areas related to physical and occupational therapy.
  • In collaboration with the Director of the POWER Laboratory and Director of Research, recruits additional professional staff members for a balanced, well-integrated clinical program. Schedules, monitors and evaluates professional and support staff. Implements programs and strategies for staff and program development.
  • Contributes to research projects involving rehabilitation science as co-investigator or co-principal investigator.
  • Negotiates and oversees contracts with outside agencies and serves as a liaison with community organizations.
  • Develops strategies for developing and maintain reimbursement and funding for clinical services.
  • Performs budgetary planning for clinical programs and performs other administrative functions necessary for the development of the Center.
  • Monitors compliance with BTNRH and FFBH policies by members of the Center staff and takes steps to assure compliance when necessary.
  • Provides physical therapy services for children and adults.
  • Works to promote evidence-based practice and close alignment of the clinical/educational, outreach, and research programs across the organization.
  • Serve as a role model for ethical behavior and promote awareness and moral principles of the Mission, Vision, & Values of Boys Town.

Required Qualifications:

  • Clinical doctorate in Physical or Occupational Therapy or a related field required
  • Nebraska State Licensure required
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with some portion of that experience in an administrative capacity required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnosis and rehabilitation of children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities required
  • Must be able to supervise professional and para-professional staff and to interact effectively with staff members of related centers.
  • Ability to implement, manage and oversee current best practices in physical rehabilitation clinical programs.
  • Ability to recruit, hire, evaluate and effectively supervise and lead professional and non-professional staff.
  • Ability to prepare budget projections, based on multiple revenue sources.
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff members of related centers.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
