IT Identity & Access Management Intern

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking an intern for IT Identity & Access Management to drive the business by providing operational analysis, knowledge management, process mapping, and technical writing; including reviewing, cleaning up and modifying procedure documentation and directories into a standard format.

This position will combine a basic level understanding of IT and network concepts, with a strong orientation towards customer service, organizational skills, documentation, and analysis. This exciting internship opportunity will provide exposure to some or all of these functions: Hands-on support could occasionally be necessary, and other tasks will be assigned to meet team/company objectives to drive efficiencies for the enterprise Identity & Access Management team, in our service and response to our business partners.

This Internship will start in May 2021 and be continual during the school year.

Operations Analysis / Business Analysis

* Support the development and continuous improvement of operational processes while preparing the teams on opportunities to improve the business run with designated workflows.
* Use analytical skills to evaluate success of documentation and processes, including analyzing estimates on baselines for functions.
* Assess and improve operational processes and tools that support Incident and Request Fulfillment Reporting, Work Request In-Take, Work Assignment, and workflows.

Knowledge Management

* Utilize existing baseline knowledge documentation to process workflows and trouble tickets, identifying items for improvement or updates within, or creation of new documentation.
* Review and continue to improve the IT Support Center webpage with content and analyze the volume of use.

Essential Job Functions

* This internship opportunity will provide exposure to an IT team for a computer science, Information Technology, or Business Major student interested in getting some practical experience with analysis, workflows, and documentation implementation.
* This role will challenge the selected person to move outside of their comfort zone and interact with associates from all areas of the Technology Operations Center and Infrastructure.
* Success in this role will require a self-starter who can identify opportunities to drive efficiencies to a successful completion with minimal guidance from others.


* Must be actively enrolled in a college level degree program (associate or bachelor level will both be considered).
* Computer Science, Information Technology and similar majors will be preferred, but business majors will be considered.
* Available work hours will fall between 8 am to 5 pm (Central Time) Monday-Friday. Candidate must be able to work part time during the school year (15-20) hours per week, and full time (30-40) hours during the summer with flexibility of schedule to accommodate classes.
* Professional and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
