POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Product Manager works directly and as a member of the Solutions team to identify, test, develop and manage products, services, tools and systems used by Scantron customers and internal teams.  This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, advanced technical skills and experience working directly with customers in a variety of industries and environments.  The role is that of a technical pioneer who is comfortable with research, kicking the tires, taking things apart, learning new technologies, deploying leading edge technologies and passing on knowledge. 

 

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate on development of features and requirements for products, services, tools and systems (collectively “Solutions”) for use by both customers and/or internal teams.
  • Assist with identification and vetting of potential Solutions including proof of concept, build / demo lab, functional and non-functional testing.
  • Develop or assist with development of key processes related to Solution operational lifecycle, including:
    • Installation, onboarding and migration
    • Internal systems integration
    • External / 3rd party systems integration
    • Configuration and Administration
    • Maintenance and Upgrade
    • Security
    • Optimization & Best Practices
    • Documentation
    • Education / Training
    • Sales Support / Demonstrations                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
    • Internal team support / escalation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Solution current and upcoming features, releases, training opportunities and industry trends including competing solutions.  Act as a solution champion for designated solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis and incident review activities as part of product management or to assist operations.
  • Train Solutions Engineers, Project Engineers and Service Support Teams on product features, operation, installation and upgrades.
  • Engage in strategic and complex project management and deployment as needed.

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Current cloud, networking and/or server administration certifications preferred

 

 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience with:
    • Computer operating systems, virtualization and server technologies including Windows, Linux, VMWare, HyperV and/or Citrix.
    • Cloud platforms including Azure and AWS
    • SAN, NAS, software-defined storage and hyper-converged infrastructure
    • LAN/WAN, VPN, routers, switches and network management tools
    • Backup, replication and failover technologies
    • Remote Monitoring and Management Systems (RMM)
    • Device Management tools
    • Email systems including Exchange Online
    • M365 / O365 and related technologies
    • Security products and solutions, multifactor authentication, password management tools, mobile device management
  • Proficient in Powershell and at least one other scripting / programming language
  • Leading candidates will have a background in and understanding of Managed Services Delivery including Managed IT, Managed Print and Managed Device / DaaS
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
