SVP, Risk & Compliance Officer

Ameritas is seeking a strategic SVP, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer to join the organization. In this role you will be responsible for enterprise risk management and oversight of all compliance functions of the organization. Areas include: Compliance, Information Security and Risk Management. You will be accountable for maintaining and developing governance and processes for assessing, prioritizing, identifying, monitoring, and avoiding potential business risk as well as maintaining and developing successful compliance practices, including developing policies and procedures for all levels of regulatory compliance.

What you do

* Strategic oversight and direction of risk management and compliance areas.
* Accountable to Ameritas Boards for risk and compliance management results.
* Development of control practices to minimize and mitigate business risks.
* Partners closely with senior management of Ameritas businesses to ensure policy adoption as required in areas including AML and privacy.
* Manage direct reports to develop implementation strategies of all plans.
* Maintain and develop business practices to further organizational goals related to cyber security, customer protections, social networking, and other internet related business functions.
* Coordinate with other risk management and compliance functions within Ameritas to leverage opportunities and develop consistent practices where appropriate.
* Maintain and develop compliance and control functions for Ameritas.
* Maintain and develop significant understanding of issues and opportunities for management of core functions in conjunction with other key business partner developments.
* Completes other projects and assignments as requested.

What you bring

* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
* 15+ years of relevant experience in risk management, internal audit or other similar risk consulting or internal controls functions that directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role.
* 5+ years management experience including strategy and influencing senior leadership and stakeholders.
* Financial services industry experience preferred.
* Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, risk assessment methodology, risk management processes, risk appetite statements, key risk measures/indicators and review
* Strategic mindset with sound problem solving capabilities with the ability to easily pivot and adapt to an agile environment
* Integrity, personal authenticity, and intellectual curiosity
* Able to inspire, motivate, and lead diverse teams and the organization
