Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking a Enterprise Data Architectto drive the business by being a key contributor to Ameritas Information Technology department, this Data Architect role is defined as follows:

* Help define the vision, strategy and principles for data management
* Define standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling, cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching and delivering all data within the enterprise
* Serve as the liaison between data consumer representatives and data solution development, integration and governance teams
* Inform and interpret data project sponsors
* Must understand how data is, or will be, used and implication on people, processes, products and technology

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you have the breadth and depth of experience in the information architecture domain and can support our data efforts in close partnership with our business stakeholders, data consumers and technology delivery teams. Your prior experience includes but not limited to developing reference architectures which should include areas for data acquisition, storage and distribution, security (of data at rest and in transit), data products/solution evaluations, data warehousing, metadata management, data quality management, data modeling and MDM. You will be part of the Enterprise data architecture team and help steer strategic technology direction, define target state architecture, technology roadmaps, build reference implementations and mentor others while championing and maturing the enterprise architecture practice. The person in the role is expected to execute on following responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

* Work with senior leadership to define and develop an Enterprise Data Vision and Strategy.
* Support the definition, development and maintenance of an Enterprise Data Roadmap which will include capability maturity, technology mapping, and technology usage footprint.
* Build and maintain the Enterprise Data Standards, Enterprise Data/Information Model and articulate the data produced and consumed by Ameritas and 3rd parties.
* Assist in the definition of process and policies of the various Enterprise Data Governance Functions and Frameworks, which will include security requirements.
* Define and advocate for consistent data integration, distribution patterns and practices are formulated, socialized and implemented to ensure integrity of data across Ameritas.
* Architect and support the implementation of a Data and Analytics Cloud Strategy on AWS technologies to better manage our data lifecycle and enable next generation data analytics and operational use cases.
* Prepare and support data and analytic research, presentations, whitepapers, business cases, and pilot applications that demonstrate how technology can affect and increase business value to Ameritas.
* Partner with enablement teams to deliver Enterprise Data and Line of Business initiatives at Ameritas.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

* Has develop and driven a value-added Data Architecture Roadmap
* Conducted Data and Tool Vendor and services evaluations which included pilots and scoring.
* Expertise in building enterprise scale solutions, in the cloud preferred.
* Has expertise in conducting thorough data architecture reviews and issue resolution for enterprise scaled solutions.
* Expert level hands-on experience with RDBMS platforms like Oracle, DB2 and MSSQL.
* Experience in migrating traditional RDBMS to AWS based database solutions.
* Data modeling (Conceptual, logical and Physical) and solution design experience in OLTP and OLAP environments.
* Experience architecting & managing Data integration and Data Warehouse platforms on premise and Cloud Solutions such as AWS and being critical in areas like Performance, Scaling, Caching.
* Strong data integration skills and experience especially around moving large data sets in batch and near real time across cloud & on-premise environments.
* Experience in developing a Microservice architecture to expose internal and external services like Data Security, API Controls, logging and data consumption.
* Must have a thorough understanding of agile development methodologies.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent required in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis or a related field.
* 10-15 years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
* 3+ years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
* Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
* Prior experience in the insurance industry and/or financial services space.
* Experience in defining and maintaining data content, i.e., reference data, master data, meta data, etc., around federated data stores.
* Expert level hands-on SQL and Procedural SQL coding skills -- past experience in a DBA role helping performance tune queries and data stores in a plus.
* Hands on experience with NoSQL Databases like Cassandra & Dynamo DB & Big Data solutions like Hadoop, Hive, Pig etc. is highly preferred
* Additional exposure to machine learning & data science techniques
* Business value focused mindset balancing tactical and strategic needs.
* Demonstrated success engaging business partners in a consultative manner and turning business concepts into well designed technology solutions.
* Proven ability to work well and influence others. Strong inter-personal skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to generate great content and present them effectively.
