Kiewit Data Services is seeking a Senior Python Developer to advance our analytical capabilities. We are looking for someone with 5+ years relevant experience in a professional setting with a Bachelors degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related field. 


As the Senior Python Developer, you will be involved in writing complex data quality rules that ensures the accuracy of our data and help Kiewit leverage our most valuable asset appropriately. You will also have the opportunity to build, manage, and re-architect the analytics layer of our data environment to help our reporting hubs and the data science teams. You will interact with business stakeholders, data analysts, and IT resources, working to standardize our data and make this data more easily accessible. You will work closely with both technology teams and the business to create robust, efficient data-driven solutions to business problems, directly adding value to the organization.

Kiewit Data Services' (KDS) mission is to make Kiewit the premier data-driven organization in our industry. To accomplish this, our projects and districts need to have the right data, of the right quality, with the right level of analysis, available to them at the right time. KDS is a cross functional organization with employees that have expertise in data, technology, support and operations backgrounds. Our core functions are data Quality, Governance, Enablement, Analytics and Data Science. 

Location

This position is based out of our Kiewit Business Center at 12720 I Street. This is a shared service center in a professional office setting. 

Responsibilities

Build python scripts apps Your primary responsibility will be to build in python data movement scripts and applications as prioritized by the Kiewit Data Services leadership team. 

  •     Analyze Business requirements by collaborating with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders.
  •     Design and develop data movement and data analysis solutions that will be used by our data quality team to improve Kiewit's data quality
  •     Work with the data scientists on their data needs.
  •     Move KDS into the cloud environment leveraging the Azure platform.

    Mentor other python developers   Using your technical experience and leadership skills, mentor other team members to build strong technical teams delivering quickly to market powerful solutions that meet the business needs.

  •     Build standards around python solutions.
  •     Conduct technical design sessions with team members to ensure standards are being followed.
  •     Conduct code reviews.

  •     Accurately provide estimates and meet project deadlines
  •     Staying current with new tools and techniques

  • Qualifications

  •     Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  •     3+ years' of python development experience
  •     3+ years' of working with SQL in various database technologies such as MS SQL, Teradata
  •     2+ years' of proficiency in XML, XSD, JSON, REST API web services
  •     2+ years' of Microsoft azure experience or other cloud services
