At First National Bank of Omaha we're on a journey to modernize our Data Program to enable the business with high quality, governed, timely, and relevant information. The role of Solution Architect is integral to the team. In this role you will be forward thinking; partnering with the business to align technical architecture to business strategy. You will work alongside the delivery team on validating potential solutions and to assist with architectural needs on existing technology. You will work in tandem with a Technical Lead to take solutions from design to implementation. The team is looking for someone with deep technical experience within Data Warehouse and BI who can serve as a technical mentor for the team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across teams, both IT and business and we look for you to be a passionate advocate for data and BI.

  • Partner with Principal Architects, other Solution Architects, Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI), Banking Platform Team(BPT), Enterprise Data Management(EDM) and Business Units(BU) to ensure we have a comprehensive and cohesive business and IT strategy for data and analytics at First National Bank of Omaha
  • Provide architectural guidance and technology recommendations that support the development and implementation of data initiatives that tie to our data roadmap and strategy
  • Creates detailed technical diagrams, designs and solutions; own the current state and partner with the Principal Data Architect on future state diagrams
  • Partner and collaborate with EBI Technical Lead(s) to ensure appropriate solutions are chosen; supportable by the team, scalable, efficient and effective. Work closely to transition solutions to implementation. Ensure the team has appropriate understanding to support new technology. 
  • Provides technical guidance to the Program and Delivery team members and cultivate a strong partnership to ensure work is understood. Assists with planning Epics, Features and Stories into releases
  • Work closely with Technical Leads to support troubleshooting and problem resolution with technology implementation and production support.
  • Actively participates in the Architecture Guild and acts as a change champion for technology evolution for FNIT
  • Ensures thorough preparation and smooth implementation of system changes
  • Assist the Program Team with planning and provide input for financial forecasts and budgets
  • Ensures that IT needs are reflected in technology contracts

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or a related area)
  • Relevent implementation and architecture experience in big data, data warehousing, data lake, operational analytics, data migration, and integration scenarios. (SQL/SnowSQL, SSIS, Snowflake, and AWS preferred)
  • Knowledge of databases, warehouses, business intelligence systems, SQL and data analysis tools
  • Knowledge and experience with Informatica; IDQ, EDC, Axon, iiCS, MDM
  • A strong understanding of security, including PCI requirements for encryption, authentication, and access
  • Experience in BI Tool access control and approval workflows for access control
  • Proven ability to architect and estimate projects
  • Working knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies such as agile methodologies and DataOps
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understood information
  • Ability to learn technologies quickly through instruction and self-training
  • Strong organizational skills; proven ability to lead small technology projects (POCs)
  • Strong collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role as a technical lead or architect
  • An advanced degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or related discipline
  • Demonstrated industry leadership in the fields of Big Data processing, Database, Data Warehousing and Data Sciences
  • Deep understanding of data, application, server, and network security
  • Experience with Statistics, Machine Learning and Predictive Modelling
  • Experience and interest in modern software architectural design, development techniques, and principles
  • Experience working with CCPA, data/consumer privacy requirements
  • Working knowledge of Data Retention best practices
  • Experience with projects leveraging data for automation
