Principal Systems Engineer - Endpoint

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer - Endpoint to drive efficiencies for the business through the advancement and delivery of endpoint platforms and client applications. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently, and also work as part of a team. Responsibilities include; enterprise platform management (physical & virtual), client application delivery, and ensuring security compliance for endpoint systems and applications.

Essential Job Functions

* Responsible for the endpoint engineering process for multiple operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS, Apple iOS, Citrix XenApp platform, and optimizing them for redundancy, performance, security, application virtualization and data protection.
* Utilize available tools such as SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy, LAPS, JAMF, 3rd party application patching solutions and Intune, among others, to perform complex hardware and software maintenance tasks and troubleshooting.
* Development and management of Windows OS images using Microsoft SCCM including hardware drivers for various manufacturers.
* Develop, deploy, and perform compatibility testing of complex application deployments and packages and provide remediation assistance and guidance to other IT staff as needed.
* Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot the security of Ameritas' endpoint environment utilizing approved management and remediation tools.
* Work closely with the Audit and Security teams to address outstanding items and prioritize remediation tasks.
* Evaluate and maintain existing standards for user profile management.
* Work closely with Citrix virtual technologies to ensure consistency of the end-user experience between platforms, while optimizing system performance and reliability.
* Possess in-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft/Office 365 suite, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Advanced Threat Protection.
* Respond to alerts and emergency calls during and outside of normal business hours.
* Act as a subject matter expert for multiple technologies or processes within the endpoint discipline.
* Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to the technical direction of Ameritas.
* Evaluate newly introduced and emerging endpoint technologies for their potential introduction into Ameritas' technology footprint.
* Contribute to the annual budget process by documenting technical justification for items aligning to the IT roadmap and general review of budget baselines.
* Act as a technical project manager to coordinate endpoint infrastructure and organizational initiatives.
* Track and resolve complex functionality and compatibility issues with little guidance and/or documentation and escalate issues and/or requests with our technology partners and manufacturers as necessary.


* 3+ years of professional experience in the Information Technologies field
* Associates' Degree or Equivalent
* Experience with Microsoft AD & Group Policy - Required
* Experience with Microsoft SCCM - Required
* Experience with Microsoft 365 -- Required
* Experience with Microsoft PowerShell - Required
* Experience with Microsoft Intune - Preferred
* Experience with JAMF -- Preferred
* Experience with Citrix XenApp -- Preferred
* Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V -- Preferred
