Scott Data Center is a Tier III certified data center delivering best-in-class security and storage of business-critical infrastructure. The purpose-built Scott Data Center is located on a technology campus which supports security, telecommunications, compute, network and phone system infrastructure.

 

In anticipation of rapid growth, we are seeking a passionate, talented IT Systems Engineer to join our multi-talented team. As a member of our team, you will have opportunities to engage in a variety of data center, business, and education and technologies. These range from OS support, servers, storage, security and networking as well as the design and implementation of solutions for both our core operation and in support of our CIO customers.  In addition to the support and operations, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in our emergent technical service

offerings.  

 

This technical team member role serves to support the current campus offerings and grow in conjunction with the expanding menu of services for both on premise and off campus customers.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Systems Engineer – for Data Center Colocation & Technology Center

 

  • Support Server, Storage, Network and Backup systems.
  • Assists with planning and implementing new technology infrastructures as well as protecting, refining, and consolidating through storage, virtualization, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Virtualization technologies, automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures.
  • Collaboration with Operations team ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Execution of IT policies and procedures.
  • Strong focus on ITIL best practices and world class customer service. ITIL certification is plus.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience Minimum of 5 years combined experience in one or more of the following:
    • Experience as a Windows Administrator
    • Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Lenovo, SuperMicro)
    • Virtual Machine Management (Nutanix/KVM, VMware, Hyper-V)
    • Email Management; SPAM Policies, DLP, Encryption
    • Scripting / Programming Concepts
    • Network Configuration and Management (VLAN/BGP/VPN/OSPF)
    • Experience with Fortinet Firewalls, UniFi Wireless, Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switching.
    • Capacity Management and Planning
    • Active Directory Management; User Account and GPO Management
    • Incident Response Experience
    • Patch Management for Windows and Linux
    • Office 365; Administration and Office App Deployment
    • Network and Application Monitoring
    • Network Print Server Administration and Provisioning
    • Backup Management of Applications and Servers

 

Requirements: 

  • Flexibility of schedule and availability to work and travel some evenings and weekends.
  • On-Call Schedule

  • Responsiveness within tight timeframes and simultaneously be responsive to customer demands.
