The Internal Sales Development Consultant will Ameritas' competitive position and to increase sales production through effective communication of product knowledge, illustration support, and resolution of agent problems. This position will provide sales development assistance serving the field associates and Regional Vice Presidents . This position will provide field support by serving as a conduit between field associates and Home Office resources. Internal Sales Development Consultant I's will function as part of an overall tiered support team valued for its knowledge, timeliness of responses, and delivery of content that will positively affect sales. Role alignment and execution among all team members is essential.

Essential Functions:

Producer Relations and Field Sales Development

60% Proactive Field Relationship Management

* Develop and maintain strong working relationship with (RVP which will include scheduling and follow up from meetings
* Proactively contact assigned key office personnel in assigned agencies, to offer assistance, ongoing training on our products, illustration software, etc.
* Provide on-going sales development by communicating messages, ideas and concepts to the field via multiple technological sources
* Track and communicate illustrated, submitted, pending and paid cases
* Monitor sales in assigned offices and proactively responding to variances from expected performance
* Maintain an on-going communication (based on more than a transaction) so as to develop a strong working relationship with assigned offices.
* Log calls and all pertinent information on a daily basis in the CRM (SalesForce.com).
* Obtain a greater than working knowledge of AIC products and procedures and be able to recruit to and explain both.

30% Regional Marketing Sales Development Line

* Answer marketing support calls from the assigned region's agents in a timely basis.
* Assist agents / field offices with product selection and any marketing related questions.
* Develop understanding of Ameritas illustration systems and assist agent with illustration design and any software related issues.
* Act as central resource/home office liaison, providing assistance for resolving problems involving all areas of the company, including licensing, commissions, software, new business, AIC and POS. Maintain ownership of all referred calls and ensure timely response.
* Document issues and results in the CRM (SalesForce.com).

10% Miscellaneous

* Develop an expert understanding of all Ameritas products.
* Perform other duties as needed by the department and the team, such as ongoing projects assigned by management.
* Continuously enhance skills through professional development activities. (Reading, formal/informal education, training classes, special projects/assignments).
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions May Include

* :
* Reporting from Salesforce.com and tracking of proposals, activity, and closed sales is necessary.
* Coordinate designated calls, webinars, and marketing plans to build awareness on products, sales concepts etc
* Work closely with sales and marketing to execute on all division strategies

Required Knowledge and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience required plus at least three (3) years experience in life insurance, with an emphasis on sales or marketing preferred.
* Must obtain life/health license within six months.
* Must obtain FINRA Series 6 or 7 license within one year.
* Must have an in-depth knowledge of the life insurance industry, life, DI and annuity products
* Strong interpersonal, oral communication and business writing skills.
* Requires a demonstrated record of initiative, leadership, problem-solving and adaptability.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), illustration software and the Internet.

Given the overall regional goals and priorities established the Internal Sales Development Consultant II must exercise a great deal of personal discretion and judgment in maintaining objectivity among many groups/individuals, to communicate in a diplomatic manner, to effectively handle changing and/or stressful situations as well as to diffuse conflict and negotiate win-win outcomes.

Working Conditions: The position will not primarily be expected to travel. However, the position should be prepared to travel for business one -- four times a year.
