Ameritas is looking for an Sales Development Specialist to enhance Ameritas' competitive position and to increase sales production through effective and timely response to field associate and internal and external Ameritas requests for illustrations, case design, product education and guidance, and other areas of immediate need. To demonstrate and deliver sales materials inclusive, but not limited to, illustrations and marketing material, and to present Ameritas in an accurate and favorable position relative to competition. To access and deliver resources to internal and external associates that will assist their efforts in increasing sales production. The Sales Development Specialist I will function as part of an overall tiered sales support team valued for its knowledge, timeliness of responses and deliver of content to positively affect sales. Role alignment and execution among all team members is essential.

What you do:

80% National Marketing Sales Development Line

* Answer sales development calls on a timely basis.
* Consult on case design with agents / field offices/ Ameritas representatives and provide illustrations and other items of immediate need,
* Guide field partners when appropriate with product selection and any sales/marketing related questions
* Develop expertise of Ameritas illustration systems and educate agents on illustration and product design; troubleshoot software related issues.
* Act as home office resource providing assistance in resolving immediate problems that arise involving all areas of the company, including licensing, commissions, software, new business
* Document in the CRM (SalesForce.com) all issues, results and opportunities and ensure that all internal and external partners are properly notified.
* Perform other duties as needed by the department and the team, such as ongoing projects assigned by management.
* Organize and maintain current product documentation and concepts.

20% Proactive Field Relationship Management

* Develop and maintain strong working relationship with RVP
* Proactively contact assigned key office personnel in assigned agencies, to offer assistance and ongoing education on our products, illustration software, promotions etc.
* Provide on-going sales development by communicating messages, ideas, sales promotions and concepts to the field via multiple technological sources
* Track and communicate submitted, pending and paid cases
* Monitor sales in assigned offices and proactively responding to variances from expected performance

What you bring:

* Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent work experience needed
* At least 1 year related experience, preferably in insurance, is required.
* Strong interpersonal, oral, listening and written communication skills.
* Requires strong problem solving skills, patience and adaptability.

Given the overall goals and priorities established the SDSI must exercise a great deal of personal discretion and judgment in maintaining objectivity among many groups/individuals, to communicate in a diplomatic manner, to effectively handle changing and/or stressful situations as well as to diffuse conflict and negotiate win-win outcomes.
