Position Description

What does a great Infrastructure Engineer, staff do at Fiserv?

You will be part of a supportive and flexible environment that encourages thinking outside of the box.  Working with other members of the Technical Operations team, you will be responsible for supporting infrastructure in a mixed cloud and on-premise environment. This will also consist of installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of Linux, AIX, Windows systems. You will be part of a local team who will also work very closely with the broader Operations team located in multiple offices.

You’ll support other Fiserv associates by enabling them to in turn provide world class products and support for our clients.

You’ll  have the opportunity to strongly contribute to developing cloud strategies and streamlining efficiencies for our operations and development teams. Additionally, you’ll help design and build automation around our cloud and broader infrastructure tasks, as well as working with teammates to manage and maintain the existing infrastructure. This will all contribute to evolving our processes to support the development team’s transition to Agile.

In supporting the existing infrastructure, you will work with a range of technologies including but not limited to: cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS), container technology (docker,kubernetes), Linux/AIX/Windows Operating Systems, VMWare, IBM Power hardware and many more. You will also have the opportunity to learn and support key aspects of our Fiserv products running on these platforms.

You’re the kind of person who has:

Experience working in a DevOps environment and possesses skills supporting: modern CI/CD tools, cloud providers (AWS/Azure), automation and configuration management.

Ability to be self-motivated, possess strong troubleshooting skills as well as customer service skills

Ability to be forward thinking and able to work well both on your own and within a group

Drive to be organized and continuously strive for excellence in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple internal systems and technologies.

The qualified candidate is may be required to provide after hours support, if the need arises.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

•Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or high school diploma/GED

•Job Related Experience: Min of five years of experience maintaining Linux/Windows systems

•Strong troubleshooting skills necessary to diagnose and repair system problems

•Ability to perform installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning on Linux and Windows systems

•Use system management software and appropriate analysis tools to identify and report on service performance, including proposals for improvement

•Fluent in documenting processes and utilizing change management

Preferred Skills and Experience:

•Background installing and working with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins/Concourse/JIRA/Artifactory/etc

•Comfortable writing scripts/automation in one or more languages: Python/Ruby/Powershell/Other

•Prior exposure and participation in and helping ensure passage of PCI assessments or other audits

•Proficient with automation/configuration management tools, such as: puppet/chef/ansible/other

•Knowledge supporting and implementing Docker/Containers/Kubernetes strongly desired

•Experience with deploying and configuring infrastructure in cloud providers, such as: AWS and Azure strongly desired

Travel required: up to 10%

Who We Are: The Technical Operations team is part of Fiserv’s Bank Solutions division and we are closely associated with the development arm of the division.  We are responsible for end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and services for nearly 2,000 Fiserv associates across multiple locations.  Our Technical Operations teams are primarily located in Lake Mary, FL., Lincoln, NE. and Sioux Falls, SD and are actively working to streamline processes between our locations while continuing to maintain our high level of associate support. You will play an important part in both helping the team manage and improve our existing environment and also helping to steer us towards a more integrated and automated future.  Additionally the candidate will help shape our future infrastructure as our development teams actively transition from Waterfall to Agile programming methods.  We are looking for right candidate who wants to be a part of a fun and dynamic team that will work on exciting, collaborative projects.
