Desktop Engineer:  

This position will be the technical expert for Desktop Services in assisting the organization through transformation including process and technology. This position will rely heavily on a good working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, SharePoint and Remote Offices Support. This is a hands-on technical role that contributes to the success of Medical Solutions by providing technical support to critical and non-critical systems. This person must possess confidence to challenge status quo to drive and inspire technical and process changes. You will be a strong advocate and catalyst for continual process and technology improvements related to all aspects of Desktop support including Network, System, and Application Performance, Capacity, Health, Availability, etc. This position supports the enterprise IT capabilities by maintaining, managing, and improving various management tools and reports which seek to proactively identify and escalate issues and problems across team boundaries. 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain corporate desktop images: keep the OS current and patched.
  • Maintain Software Library
  • Creating software deployment packages in SCCM
  • Utilize new technology to administer and support desktops, remote deployment, SCCM/Intune, MDM/MAM, and Azure AD
  • Minimize steps to deploy new workstation
  • Administer and update SCCM as needed
  • Conduct monthly workstations security patches
  • Mentor Desktop Support team members and refine process for efficiency


  • Support for end users, both in person and remote
  • Collaborate with users to troubleshoot and fix issues
  • Ensure all support issues and solutions are documented in the help desk system
  • Configure, install and maintain PC’s, software and peripherals
  • Administer new user on boarding and ongoing account maintenance using active directory.
  • Maintain and support company owned user hardware along with some support for user owned devices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on workstations and peripherals.
  • Perform post-resolution follow ups to maintain end user satisfaction.
  • Administer Active Directory including group policy management
  • Administer Office 365
  • Recommend changes to improve system and network performance
  • Work with infrastructure team to implement system changes/updates
  • Execute timely and accurate time tracking of all work hours, including providing work estimates during planning
  • Proactive approach to issue resolution and strategy to lessen or illuminate re-occurrence
  • Support of all our offices remotely; occasional travel.

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years providing hands-on customer PC and application support in Windows operating systems, Office 365 administration, Active Directory, SharePoint and Exchange administration, Microsoft Office 365 and Security
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in Desktop Support Environments including remote support and deployment, common troubleshooting techniques
  • Advanced understanding of PC and application security in a Windows networked environment
  • Proficient with SCCM tool
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
