The Scrum Master is responsible for ensuring that teams have information and support to help them complete the deliverables of each sprint, and makes sure teams are protected from unscheduled work and roadblocks. The Scrum Master is responsible for scheduling and facilitating team ceremonies and may attend Program team meetings. This role has accountability for the overall completion of deliverables in each Sprint.

Overview: 

As a Scrum Master within First National Information Technology group, you will be accountable for ensuring the completion of deliverables for each sprint.  The individual in this position provides the leadership and experience to enable the team to develop sprint plans, identifies and removes impediments, works collaboratively to manage dependencies and risks.   The individual facilitates Agile ceremonies for the Delivery Team and ensures continuous improvement within an Agile Framework. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedules and facilitates team ceremonies, such as stand ups and retrospectives
  • Facilitates estimation and sprint planning
  • Works with program team to understand groomed backlog and priorities
  • Manages dependencies with other delivery teams
  • Monitors and provides information radiators for the team
  • Builds and supports a strong team dynamic where people thrive and inspire each other
  • Builds trusted relationships with key stakeholders to manage expectations
  • Ensures tools and processes are documented and available for team use
  • Solicits and uses input to evolve the delivery system to improve velocity and quality

 Job Qualifications:

  • Familiarity and understanding of common Agile practices
  • Leadership and team building capabilities including coaching, guiding and supporting team members
    • Open to feedback
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and problem solving techniques
    • Ability to facilitate difficult discussions, when needed
  • Ability to negotiate with cross section of teams/resources
  • Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master strongly preferred
  • Experience with VersionOne a plus
  • CSM, CPO, or PMI-ACP a plus
