The Senior Payroll Administrator assists with the ongoing administration of tax reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance related to taxes. The primary role of this position will be to audit all appropriate withholding tax returns, maintain system withholding tables, maintain system accounting tables, and monitors compliance with all employment tax jurisdictions. Additionally, this position may be responsible for reconciling all payroll related suspense accounts and reporting on outstanding balances regularly. This position will also assist in resolving any tax matters that may arise from a company or associate perspective.

Essential Functions

* Oversees and Audits Federal, State, and Local Tax Returns - collects and analyzes corporate tax data into prescribed reporting formats and meets all prescribed deadlines.
* Oversees and Verifies Tax Deposits and Scheduled Tax Payments -- Verifies transmission of funds to taxing authority through appropriate disbursement method to meet prescribed deadlines.
* Maintain Knowledge of Tax Requirements and Comply with Federal, State and Local Tax Regulations - study and research new and existing regulations, obtain tax opinions and interpretations, enforce system adherence to regulations, advise management on needed actions
* Review Tax Audit Reporting -- evaluates any tax audit reporting generated by the system to ensure all tax data is correct and works with Payroll staff making adjustments as needed.
* Reconciles Tax Discrepancies and Represents the Organization in Dispute Resolution - Collects and analyzes a variety of tax filing data to reconcile, support, and respond to any discrepancy or dispute that may arise.
* The incumbent provides administration and reconciliation of all Payroll related accounts which includes:
* Account Reconciliation -- Evaluates account balances at the end of each accounting cycle and analyzes the contents of the account and reports to Finance. Coordinates the appropriate clearing of outstanding items to maintain balances at a minimal level.
* Special Accounting -- Process payroll transactions and necessary accounting entries for special pay arrangements.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
* 2 or more years' experience required
* General knowledge of accounting principles, Payroll and Tax practices
* Research and analytical abilities, proficient use of spreadsheets
* Experience in multistate accounting or payroll environment preferred
* ADP knowledge preferred
