Web Tech Instructor - AIM Code School

At the AIM Institute, Instructors provide curriculum development, instruction, and mentorship to students enrolled at the AIM Code School. All instructors are expected to be experienced in their field with a focus on information technology. In addition to conducting workshops and instruction, instructors will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of instructional content, creating new tech workers through the teaching of standard programming practices and AIM Code School curriculum, as well as helping to recruit students.

Instructors should uphold the mission of the AIM Institute to inspire and grow tech talent. This is a part-time/contractual position that ranges from 3-hour workshops to 14-week courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Create/maintain a standardized curriculum for the Introduction to Web Development, Java, COBOL, and/or other related courses
  • Maintain professional and helpful classroom management
  • Create or collaborate to create curriculum for additional courses and workshops as applicable.
  • Instruct day/evening classes/workshops as assigned/agreed upon.
  • Engage the community about the benefits of the instruction/curriculum to local groups or organizations.
  • Track all attendance and course grades and document them within the AIM Code School system. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, 2+ years’ experience working with related technologies, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
  • Proficient in 2 or more of the following fields/languages:
    • Front End Development
    • Java/Full Stack Development
    • COBOL
    • .NET
    • WordPress
    • Cyber Security
  • Experience in a classroom setting instructing for a similar field.

PAY:

Pay between $30 and $50 per hour depending on class size/load.  Hours vary depending on the number of classes taught.  We offer both evening and day classes.
