Position Description

Dev Ops Engineer, Staff

We are looking for stellar Dev Ops Engineer to help us maintain our development infrastructure at Fiserv. You will be responsible for supporting a diverse set of technology in our data centers in its current state along with being a key contributor in our journey to a more Agile environment. We need someone who can proactively maintain and provide oversight and management of the Bank Solutions development infrastructure, which includes: virtualization, standalone and blade servers and storage.

No two days will be the same as you’ll provide technical oversight and provide mentorship to other technical members of the team. You’ll continuously evaluate and provide ways to improve the overall performance, reliability and availability of the environment. We are open to improvement and suggestions and will look to you to implement ways to automate processes and promote standardization in the environment.

You’ll feel valued and serve as a key member of the team and a strong technical point of contact for local and remote employees. In addition, you’ll collaborate with key stakeholders and development partners throughout the company, giving you insight and visibility.

We need someone who is able to provide after hours support, if the need arises.

You’re the kind of person who has:

Ability to perform installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning on Linux (Centos and Red Hat preferred) and Windows systems

Proficient with managing infrastructure including: virtualization, standalone and blade servers, storage

Experience with basic networking technologies, such as firewalls, routers and switches

Experience or is comfortable writing scripts/automation in one or more languages: Python, Powershell, Bash or Other

Ability to analyze and report on capacity and performance of the environment, including proposals for improvement

Strong troubleshooting skills necessary to diagnose and repair system problems

Confident skills in documenting processes and utilizing change management

Qualifications for Consideration:

•Education: Bachelor’s Degree or high school diploma/GED

•Job Related Experience: Minimum of five years of experience maintaining Linux/Windows systems

•Strong troubleshooting skills necessary to diagnose and repair system problems

•Knowledge supporting and implementing Docker/Containers/Kubernetes strongly desired

•Ability to perform installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning and performance tuning on Linux and Windows systems

•Use system management software and appropriate analysis tools to identify and report on service performance, including proposals for improvement

•Fluent in documenting processes and utilizing change management

Preferred Skills and Experience

•Experience with deploying and configuring infrastructure in cloud providers, such as: AWS and Azure strongly desired

Experience with Cisco and Checkpoint networking equipment

Experience with configuration management tools, such as: Chef, Puppet, Ansible or equivalent

Travel required: Up to 10 percent

Who We Are: The Technical Operations team is part of Fiserv’s Bank Solutions division and we are closely associated with the development arm of the division.  We are responsible for end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and services for nearly 2,000 Fiserv associates across multiple locations.  Our Technical Operations teams are primarily located in Lake Mary, FL., Lincoln, NE. and Sioux Falls, SD and are actively working to streamline processes between our locations while continuing to maintain our high level of associate support. You will play an important part in both helping the team manage and improve our existing environment and also helping to steer us towards a more integrated and automated future.  Additionally the candidate will help shape our future infrastructure as our development teams actively transition from Waterfall to Agile programming methods.  We are looking for right candidate who wants to be a part of a fun and dynamic team that will work on exciting, collaborative projects.
