Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking a Senior Auditor who is eager and results driven, to execute and often create comprehensive audit work programs without direct supervision. Senior Auditors assist with coordination of efforts to ensure proper collaboration and cooperation between auditees and team members. This position will be a resource for both staff and Supervisor auditors.

Essential Job Functions

* Plans the audit work for assigned projects, including the preparation of audit programs and the identification of the most efficient and effective audit techniques. Participate in planning meetings with auditees and incorporate their concerns into the audit approach.
* Conducts detailed reviews of assigned organizational and functional activities and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls.
* Prepares workpapers documenting results of the tests, including formal audit comments which identify and quantify the impact on business operations.
* Demonstrates the use of critical thinking, maintains curiosity and exercises professional skepticism.
* Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo to find new and better ways.
* Serves as a technical resource and assists other professionals on the staff, in areas such as audit skills, project management, and data analytics.
* Creates productive working relationships with business stakeholders and staff.
* Assists in the coordination and implementation of audit work for the external auditors.
* Continues to develop professionally through self-study and on-the-job training, with emphasis on preparing for and obtaining professional and industry certifications.
* Develop knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate auditing techniques and accounting principles.

Requirements

* Undergraduate degree in accounting, business or related studies.
* Professional course work or certification a plus (CPA, CIA, CISA).
* Audit or comparable experience of 2 - 5 years
* Problem solving skills, professional skepticism, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
* An understanding of the Principles of Accounting as well as the need for controls and the importance of ethics in the business environment are advantageous.
* Knowledge of and experience with data analytics are a plus.
