CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Job Technical Skills – Performs a variety of duties, under direct supervision, requiring skill in operation, maintenance, repair and modification of LES owned buildings in accordance with LES policies, safety rules, procedures and practices to maintain efficient and functional buildings. Specific duties include prioritizing tasks, engaging in continuous process improvement to gain efficiencies, working independently to get work completed to meet facility goals, and respond to after-hour facility and grounds needs as needed. Completes some work in close proximity to high voltage systems and equipment.

  • Assists with performing professional landscaping services for LES owned and leased grounds including but not limited to, mowing, pruning, edging, spraying, moving rock, dirt, and snow.
  • Removes snow and spreads sand, chat and salt on snow- or ice-covered surfaces by operating snow blowers, tractors and shovels. With guidance, applies appropriate chemicals properly on grounds and landscapes using the appropriate personal protective equipment and according to specifications. Disposes of, or labels and stores, residual chemical products as directed.
  • Assists with Performing floor care, general cleaning, replenishing supplies, moving furniture, operates cleaning equipment, sets up meeting rooms, and other minor facility maintenance projects.
  • Assists with ensuring grounds maintenance equipment and building maintenance equipment are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment and machines within reasonable capabilities.
  • Delivers supplies, materials, and equipment between facilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or G.E.D., and
  • Six months to one year of related experience, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Certified Pesticide Applicator preferred
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
