The Role:

The Sojern Accounting Team is looking for a driven, dynamic Staff Accountant to join our fast-growing travel marketing technology company. This position will report to the Accounting Manager based in Omaha. The Accounting Team performs critical functions that support the Company as it continues to grow and scale internationally. The Accounting Team is constantly innovating, looking for process enhancements, and opportunities to grow efficiencies and provide accurate and timely reporting. We are a collaborative team, looking to drive results and enjoy our work.

Responsibilities:

  • Become an all purpose utility contributor on the Accounting Team, helping to improve the flow and decrease the time to close month end financials, including processing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing results

  • Support various general ledger processes including accounts payable, procurement, expense reporting, cash applications, fixed assets, and T&E processes

  • Assist in managing end-to-end procurement processes through cross-functional partnership and communication with external vendors

  • Support international accounting functions, including exposure to foreign exchange and intercompany accounting

  • Assist in monthly intercompany reconciliations, consolidation accounting and related intercompany elimination

  • Substantiates financial transactions with review and supporting documentation

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive implementation of the solutions

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent experience

  • 2 years accounting related experience required

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with NetSuite desired

  • Critical thinking, with a strategic approach to problem solving

  • Enjoyment of dynamic and fast-moving environment

  • Attention to details in a complex process
