Sr Tech Solution Architect - Remote or Omaha, NE

Mutual of Omaha's senior architects represent a crucial part of the team’s leadership triangle.  In this position, you will work with application team members, business and IS partner teams, and enterprise architects to meet next generation needs for customer and policy Master Data services for the Enterprise. You will partner with all levels throughout the organization.

YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Seasoned experience with decomposing large applications into Microservices Architected services with an eye to delivery of “As A Service” technologies.
  • Practical understanding of modernization of technologies, including microservices, APIs, and Cloud architecture.  Seasoned experience integrating applications and systems.
  • Seasoned knowledge of core technologies (Java, JavaScript, Spring/Spring Boot, SQL, RDBMS) with a passion to learn new technologies and methods.  Exposure to legacy Cobol and Mainframe structures
  • Experience with Business Capability mapping
  • Experience communicating the benefits and risks of technology selections and solutions with business partners
  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture and data engineering

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Partner with other leaders and vendors to align Services strategies with organizational Objectives
  • Provide technical vision and leadership for customer and policy Master Data solutions
  • Be an advocate and champion of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and drive change through iterative development processes.  Incorporate code quality standards in all endeavors.
  • Be an internal consultant and mentor to team members with (SAFe) Epic-level leadership, guidance, and direction.  Lead efforts toward technical modernization. 
  • Pursue Operational Excellence in all endeavors through continuous process improvements
  • Keep an eye on security and privacy to protect Company data

ABOUT YOU:

  • Proven problem solver for data integration needs over the last 10 or more years
  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related degree or equivalent work experience
  • You:
