Position Details:

This role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Product Manager, working with CSG’s Platform and Security teams, accountable for day-to-day activities that monitor and guide related features from definition thru release process.  The perfect candidate can translate strategies and tactics of Security and Platform groups into a set of priorities that are then shared with the Product Management to create an execution plan.  The scope of this job covers both the Broadband, Cable and Satellite product portfolio as well as the Carrier product portfolio. The ideal applicant would have experience with executing on product strategy, interfacing with technical team members, ability to develop plans and drive the creation of roadmap to support the defined strategy.

Key responsibilities include

  • Large portion of activities for this position is concentrated on Platform initiatives.  The Associate PM will be working with the Platform teams, DevOps, and the Security organization to define and groom Epics & Features, support the creation of business cases, build execution plans for each Epic, obtain estimates and resourcing needs, participate in prioritization activities, prepare features for each PI, negotiate with operational and DevOps teams, and assist in maintaining a 12 to 18-month roadmap to include key milestones and pertinent P&L information.   
  • Quarterly updates on progress and challenges of the roadmap
  • Groomed list of Epics and Features
  • Understanding of effort and cost required to support roadmap
  • Possess technical background regarding Hardware, Software, and application development.
  • Understand technical roadmaps, ask the right questions and help develop and maintain a high-level roadmap and scorecard.
  • Comfortable in understanding highly technical concepts, including but not limited to:  public cloud, private cloud, platform modernization, Virtual Machine, storage management, and modern backup/recovery systems.
  • Exposure to security best practices and concepts, and help coordinate these security initiatives across Product Management, DevOps, Platform, and Operations is a plus

Professional Experience

  • Developing and executing on product roadmaps
  • Experience leading complex initiatives crossing multiple organizations
  • Technical background in software development and/or operations. Familiarity with SAFe, Agile development a plus
  • Experience with Jira and Remedy a plus
  • Ability to influence and achieve cross organizational results
  • Client relationship management a plus
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and ability to use pivot tables and perform data analysis
  • Desired BS in Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent experience
  • Prefer 2+ years of product management in the field of security, with a mix of experience in both established companies and start-up settings
  • Anticipates assignments and operational objectives based on a thorough understanding of the business strategy and uses this to provide insights and recommendations that influence the strategy
  • Technical background in software development and/or operations. Familiarity with SAFe, Agile development, ITIL, Networking, Server Administration/Upgrades, TRF activities, Database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), etc.  a plus
  • Strong analytical and inter-personal communication skills and the ability to distill the key issues inherent in complex problems
  • Self-starter with initiative to proactively identify and act upon opportunities without direction.
  • Ability to deliver presentations competently to different levels of organization
  • Ability to negotiate Feature prioritization and ensure product designs satisfactorily meet business requirements. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to translate technology features into business benefits and customer capabilities
  • Creative problem solving capabilities
