Position Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Basis Administrator will be responsible for performing basis administration of SAP systems at the District. This will include SAP systems such as ECC, CRM, BW, BI, PI and Solution Manager. This will include activities such as SAP system upgrades, managing the transport domains in SAP system landscape, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business with MIS emphasis, plus a minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing/administering SAP systems in Unix/Linux/AIX and Virtual environment. Strong non-degree candidates with significant demonstrated experience may be considered.
2. Extensive experience on all aspects of SAP Basis Administration activities like System Copy/Refresh, Client Copy/Export/Import, Support Packs, Kernel Upgrades, Unicode Conversion, OS/DB Migrations.
3. Responsible for installing and configuring SAP Fiori Applications; Troubleshoot and upgrade Fiori Apps as required.
4. Experience in Homogeneous and Heterogeneous system copy is required.
5. Experience in LVM (Landscape Virtualization Management) is preferred.
6. Experience in managing SAP systems in a virtual environment is preferred.
7. Experience in SAP full cycle implementation is desired.
8. Executing daily operational activities related to the SAP environment including object transports, setup/configuration, operational SAP monitoring, troubleshooting and error handling, performance/tuning and problem determination/resolution.
9. Experience in Oracle / HANA database management is desirable.
10. Experience in Migration activities with scope for HANA.

13. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse clientele, including technical and non-technical personnel both internal and external to the District.

Specific Responsibilities:
In order to effectively contribute to the objectives of the District, the Basis Administrator is accountable and responsible to:
1. Install, configure and maintain SAP system and related applications in the development, test and production environment.
2. Upgrade SAP systems on a periodic basis, to include kernel, stack, support pack and enhancement pack (EHP) upgrades.
3. Monitor the performance of SAP systems and making recommendations for improvements.
4. Maintain systems availability and all service restoration activities.
5. Provide escalation support for unresolved help desk issues and provide technical consultation to departmental staff.
6. Rotation of on-call responsibilities for 24/7 on-call tree for alarms and outages for multiple systems and applications.
7. Create and maintain technical documentation.
8. Monitor the utilization, performance, backup/recovery, and security of production SAP systems and making recommendations for improvements to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
9. Troubleshoot and correct common problems with the applications and databases assigned.
10. Assist SAP functional consultant in issues regard transports inconsistencies, job performance and other issues.
11. Review short dumps and system logs and make recommendations on appropriate actions to be taken.
12. Understand and comply with all pertinent District Safety Standards.
13. Fulfill responsibilities common to all Supervisory, Professional, and Administrative positions as stated.

In contributing to the objectives of the District, the Basis Administrator, is responsible for effecting constructive relationships with:
1. All departments within the District, most particularly computer system users and the Information Technology staff.
2. Information Technology and user personnel of other companies in order to gather information on new and existing systems and procedures.
3. Vendors of computer software, hardware, and related services to ensure proper system design and to be able to recommend changes as appropriate.
