The Business Development Underwriting Department is looking for a new Underwriting Coordinator to join our team. Our high-performing team works together to support our internal underwriters as well as our Strategic Partner organization's sales force.

The Underwriting Coordinator specializes in facilitating the dental and vision bid process for large cases, typically over 500 enrolled lives, as well as our more complex, politically sensitive, and/or non-traditional groups, potential key brokers, and blocks of business. This position collaborates closely with our strategic partners sales offices nationwide and will act as an internal liaison between external field offices and the internal operational departments including business development underwriting, the group questionnaire team, the group network reporting team, and the business development sales representatives to complete the Request For Proposal (RFP) submissions for prospective cases. Customer satisfaction is maximized when our team delivers the timely release of bids, making sure all aspects of the assigned bids have been researched and completed in an accurate, compelling manner to the client.

Essential Functions

* Support the underwriting department by gathering information from field partners, analyzing the request for proposals (RFP's) and incoming bid documents for accuracy and completeness to aid the underwriters in reaching rating decisions.
* Deliver excellent customer service through daily interactions with internal and external customers.
* Census compilation, sorting and summarization.
* Be a Group Dental & Vision product and plan design expert. Become knowledgeable on Group Dental & Vision products including, but not limited to plan design elements and rating components of these plan elements.
* Interpret documents to effectively match groups' current dental/vision plan booklets.

* Utilize our SalesXpress rating system to create plan designs and prepare proposals, including customization of special bid requirements language and formatting to send to the field offices.

* Maintain bid submission documentation, correspondence and tracking of case data.
* Partner with fellow Coordinators to obtain network reports and/or complete questionnaire responses to meet bid requirements.
* Schedule and facilitate meetings for the financial and sales review of large cases.
* Process new case submissions by verifying quoted plan design information and inputting sold case information into SalesXpress to be sent to Group Administration.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

* High School Diploma or GED
* 1 -- 2 years related experience preferred
* Intermediate Excel and Word skills
* Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to customer service
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment while also delivering independent results
* Analytical, detail-oriented and operates with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
* High degree of organization and prioritization skills to meet deadlines
* General Knowledge of Group insurance products and bid process
