Interested in working at Hudl? Awesome. Here’s what you need to know.

Our goal is to change the way coaches, athletes and analysts prepare for and stay ahead of the competition. Whether it’s with video, stats or a combination of the two, we want our tools to help every step of the way. That’s why we’re always hiring—we need the best because a product is only as good as the people behind it.

This person will be a key member in helping us create growth in an area of strategic importance to Hudl that serves our elite customers (sporting brands, high performing universities, national governing bodies and professional sports organisations) globally. The context of this role is linked to the desire of many sports related organisations to develop their athlete identification and development processes by taking inspiration from best practice globally and shaping it to fit the unique situation of each global region.Specifically, this role will focus on:
  • Technical Pre Sales efforts for our Data Licensing team (primarily Wyscout API)
  • Creative applications of Data Science within High Performance WorkflowsGlobal Football will be the main sport but the role will evolve into other sports over time

As a Solutions Consultant, you’ll be responsible for understanding complex customer needs, recommending solutions across all of Hudl’s products and services, and documenting the plan for their successful activation.

This position may require travel to customer meetings, team meetings, industry events, regional retreats, Hudl HQ and and our regional offices. Due to COVID-19, all travel will be strategically planned rather than reactionary.

Hudl has a flexible location policy. Once we can safely return to our offices, we'll leave it up to you to choose where you want to work: Hudl HQ in Lincoln, Nebraska; our London, Barcelona or Chiavari offices; or remotely.

You Are

  • Qualified. You must hold a degree in computer science or demonstrate strong computer science abilities that have been learnt and applied in performance analysis, sports coaching and/or sports science. A masters degree in computer science or equivalent working experience is highly desirable.
  • A leader. You’re skilled at using business intelligence and design tools (e.g., Tableau Zen Master) and can deliver customer-focused outputs while educating customers and fellow Hudlies.
  • Well-versed in Hudl products. You have experience with Wyscout API, Wyscout, Sportscode and Hudl.
  • All about sport. You’ve been on the front lines in a strategic role with a high-performance sports team, where you developed and shared semi-custom solutions with key decision makers at sports organisations (e.g., CEO, sporting director). Experience working in multi-sport environments is highly desirable, with global football, basketball, field hockey, ice hockey, volleyball, rugby and Olympic committees a priority.
  • Knowledgeable. Your experience of pre-sales and processes is required, while certifications in project management are a plus.

You Will

  • Guide. You’ll operate as a custodian of the application of data science within decision-making processes, both internally and with our customers. You’ll teach and empower with a humble, yet resourceful nature.
  • Help execute our technical pre- and post-sales solutions consulting process. Helping our elite customers see the value of our offerings will be your guiding light.
  • Plan for the future. You’ll guide our future choices related to offerings in each region and globally, then help define our new professional services offering and opportunities within our customer base.
  • Support sales. You’ll draft technical content of RFP and large solution-based projects for sales interactions. You’ll also help create playbooks with the sales team on how to approach customers, propose technical solutions and win large new projects with key accounts.
  • Help us level up. You’ll implement pre-sales methodologies across the board for the Elite Sales team, and refine their technical skills to increase the value they add in customer interactions.
  • Collaborate. Not only will you work with our sales team to drive revenue and grow a pipeline of new opportunities in all regions, you’ll also work with diverse clients—being multilingual is a plus.

We Will

  • Celebrate work at Hudl retreats. We like to gather our Hudlies from around the world to showcase achievements and strategize for the future.
  • Treat you like an adult. We’re all about a healthy work-life balance. We’ll give you unlimited vacation time and have company-wide timeout days (no meetings allowed).
  • Provide career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
  • Supply you with tools for success. We've invested in our office spaces, designing them with our employees in mind. You’ll have the enriching, flexible environment and powerful hardware you need to do your job well.
