The PayPal Controllership, Global Record-to-Report organization is looking for a highly motivated individual with a combination of general ledger accounting, close activities, and interpersonal skills. The position is located in Omaha, NE (with ability to work from home on a flexible basis).

Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend and implement various accounting policies
  • Oversee close process for Balance Sheet activities globally
  • Prepare and post journal entries, and well as review journals from business process outsourcer and automated postings
  • Perform and support account reconciliations
  • Support SOX & Audit tasks related to general ledger activity
  • Support initiatives to improve processes and close via automation and simplification
  • The successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly, and possess general ledger accounting experience. The ability to manage relationships cross functionally and globally through clear communication of goals and objectives is extremely important.

Candidates for this position must have:

  • 3-5 years accounting experience in both general ledger accounting and the close cycle.  Experience at a large global growth company a plus.
  • Experience with SAP General Ledger system
  • Working understanding of process improvement skills; proficiency with spreadsheet and presentation software.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, rapidly changing environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives.
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement.

Candidates should also possess the following:

  • Good understanding of internal controls, compliance, and SOX
  • Good communications skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent required – CPA preferred
