Architect III - Business Platform Lab or Remote

The Enterprise Business Platform Laboratory Division is hiring an Architect III to help coordinate and integrate hypotheses, experiments, and innovative extensions into the eco-systems of solutions that comprise our business capabilities and technology solutions within Mutual of Omaha.


  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and innovation stakeholders to explore hypothesis and experiments with business objectives – identifying these opportunities and building support through a business and technology opportunity lens
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and innovation stakeholders and evaluate hypothesis, experiments and provide direction and support to delivery resources (internal or external)
  • Collaborate with procurement, risk management and legal to build/renew relationships with external entities to deliver on hypothesis and experiments
  • Provide input and monitor statements of work and contracts with external entities for the purpose of delivery on hypothesis and experiments
  • Provide day to day advice and recommendations for delivery impediments – creating clarity for innovation stakeholders (internal or external)
  • Sustain and deepen relationships with innovation stakeholders and delivery resources (internal or external)
  • Provide updates and readouts on hypothesis, experiments and provide input to trusted advice for innovation stakeholders
  • Contribute to communication of results for experiments and collaborate on recommendations for multiple audiences based on experiment results via collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and innovation stakeholders
  • Participate and co-lead workshops with various audiences to formulate plans, approaches, hypothesis, experiments, and results
  • Analyze, and provide insight for opportunity assessments –substantiating hypothesis probabilities through the insights supported by data and financial analysis of opportunities by working with innovation leaders
  • Build relationships that lead to informal influence both inside and outside of Mutual of Omaha


  • Varied experience in business and examples of applying Enterprise thinking to align business outcomes to lean thinking and customer drive design experiences
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with audiences and channel specific guidance and constraints into effective recommendations for execution frameworks that will be used tp inform senior leaders on courses of action, viability, and advisability
  • Specific examples of curiosity, passion for learning and growth in architectural, technology and business expertise as well as a proven record for formal/informal communication, collaboration, and facilitation of groups to formulate and deliver on solutions
  • Experience in applying lean thinking and a data driven approaches to formulate approaches to testing, learning in solutions in/adjacent to technology
  • Experience in decomposing problems and mapping a path of execution that exposes lean/transformation opportunities for exploration through the experimental process and effective communication of options and proves/disproves hypothesis and approaches
  • Ability to effectively collect, represent and communicate metrics around processes and options – effectively communicating to influence experiment formulation and results reporting
  • Ability to navigate informal relationships and effectively partner with internal/external parties to test, learn and report out results on complex engagements

  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $155,000
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
