Summary:

Sr Software Development Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, writing code, modifying and debugging CSG product applications. May perform release testing; interface with end-user to define requirements and complete technical documentation. Assist with detail architectural designs for software solutions and provide guidance on complex software development assignments.

Position Details:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with an experienced development team in a mainframe batch environment.  You will leverage industry best practices and methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.  

Position is for a developer on a development team.  This individual will work on the development, testing, and implementation of new features as well as production defect tickets.  This individual will also perform as a mentor for other, less experienced developers.

To be considered for this position, a candidate will need the following specific skills:

  • At least 5 years of technical experience.
  • Be effective at communicating and collaborating across multiple teams, ensuring understanding of both verbal and written material.
  • Excellent experience using COBOL and JCL in an IBM environment to develop, deploy and manage applications.
  • Excellent experience using a variety of data formats including DB2, VSAM, and QSAM.
  • Excellent experience using mainframe development tools such as ISPW, FileAid, AbendAid. and Xpediter,
  • Experience working in and supporting a DevOps organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Provide on-call support of production, client test cycles and resolve cycle-related issues or problems.
  • Address cycle-tuning and cycle-performance issues and opportunities.
  • Be a self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in SAFe/Scrum/Kanban is favorable.
