Summary:

Position Details:

This position is responsible for leading a technical software team including developing high quality talent and facilitating teamwork while solving challenges in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.  As a software manager, you will manage the agile team’s project goals, take an active role in contributing to product strategy and mentor your team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and acting as Scrum Master for agile teams.
  • Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
  • Take responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of complex technical projects
  • Contribute technically to projects
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Product Owners and Product Managers to help the team in building the highest quality products while hitting their deliverable dates.

Education and Experience: 

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years development experience
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience and managing individuals in software development strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams leveraging agile practices strongly preferred
  • Experience designing or assisting the team architecting large-scale systems design

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge in software development methodologies/processes, design, implementation, and documentation.
  • Excellent ability to read and write scripts in a variety of scripting languages.
  • Ability to mentor and train new team members
  • Working knowledge of web services, IIS 7, C# or related .Net programming languages, and database systems.
  • Excellent customer support and communication skills.
  • Ability to support 24x7 on call rotation.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing team environment.
  • Ability to recognize areas in need of improvement and solve complex problems related to interconnected software components.
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and UNIX operating systems.
  • Ability to learn new programing languages
  • Ability to use a personal computer.  Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment.
