National Accounts Questionnaire Specialist

The Questionnaire Specialist drives the business by specializing in the management of the RFP (Request for Proposal) and RFI (Request for Information) processes for Ameritas and strategic partner distributions. Acting as an internal liaison between the external sales force and internal operational departments for dental, vision and hearing quotes, the associate will research, complete and gather all documentation for a proposal bid, ensuring the bid is presented in an accurate and compelling manner.

What you do:

* The emphasis of this position is to ensure the timely release of assigned bids, making sure all aspects of the bids have been researched and presented accurately to the client.
* The Questionnaire Specialist completes questionnaires in various formats.
* Specialists complete ADA Chart requests as part of the submission, as needed.
* The position utilizes a database software program to respond to questionnaires. Associates must have a level of comfort with learning new software, following the necessary steps to submit new data and partnering with others in the development and testing of the database.
* Specialist assembles hardcopy binders, if needed as part of the submission, as well as creating electronic copies to be submitted via email and/or jump drives. The incumbent does a review of final submission and creates the electronic shipping invoices for binder mailings.
* The Questionnaire Specialist conducts functions related to bid coordination with little need for assistance or review by a Supervisor.
* This position conducts communication with various members of the sales force, internal subject matter experts and management team. In addition, this position participates in strategy meetings with various members of the management team to help negotiate and obtain approval of bids within certain size or financial categories.
* For newly sold business, the incumbent informs other internal Group departments of the sale and provides background information used to develop implementation plans.
* This position maintains various data elements in our tracking systems used to measure quote activity and sold cases.
* The Questionnaire Specialist participates in new product teams or special project task forces to represent the unit's perspective and function as the point person for the unit.
* Other duties include assisting the supervisor in support of various projects including mentoring/training new team members, new field sales support specialists and new sales reps.
* While not a primary focus, the Questionnaire Specialist will have working knowledge and training related to the preparation of provider reports, disruption analysis as well as the "scrubbing" of dental and vision proposals.

What you bring:

It is preferred that the incumbent has a degree or equivalent work experience in group insurance and possess general knowledge and/or background in the following, plus have 2-5 years' experience with the following:

* dental and/or vision procedures
* our Group and Partner distributions product portfolio
* risk, rating and other underwriting issues
* statistical and/or market strategies specifically related Dental/Vision
* functions performed in other operational areas
* proposal, contract, and/or claim language
* operations within our sales offices
* operations of our various alternative distribution networks
* skill sets needed to learn internally developed software used in the rating calculations, proposal generation, etc.
* strong knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
* Excellent reading and writing comprehension
