The Lead Investment Accountant provides accounting professional or management support and oversight for investment accounting activities for the organization in compliance with regulatory policies. This position is responsible for coordinating the tools, resources, and completion of responsibilities of their area while providing leadership.

What you do

* Review and/or process derivative, private placement and convertible trades for Investments.
* Complete regulatory reporting including derivative schedules.
* Process trades and complete monthly reconciliation for Ameritas Charitable Foundation.
* Analyze and prepare reporting on incremental income generated by security holdings.
* Evaluate yield results and report results to Actuarial associates.
* Analyze cashflows on structured securities and import updates.
* Complete impairment screening on securities and prepare Other Than Temporary Impairment (OTTI) packet for quarterly committee meeting.
* Lead Model Audit Rule (MAR) review and testing for Investment Accounting.
* Cross train to serve as backup for daily cash and trade processing.
* Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance or equivalent work experience.
* 2-4+ years relevant work experience required. Ideally to include investment accounting, financial statement preparation, regulatory reporting and/or public accounting.
* CPA or other Accounting/Investment certifications preferred.
* Knowledge of US GAAP and/or STAT guidance beneficial.
* Strong critical thinking, organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
