Specialist, ACH Operations ($18 / hr)

Hours: 9:00am-5:30pm

Reviews, schedules and conducts the accurate and timely processing of customer ACH files. Accountable for the processing of contract scheduled ACH large dollar corporate customer files. Conducts the research of ACH items in a timely manner and supports the overall customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance of the ACH department and First National Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to the role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required. Report all compliance issues, violations of laws or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in the FNBO Compliance Accountability Program.

2.  Schedule ACH files for PEP+ processing windows accurately. Effectively monitor and process all ACH files through PEP+ in a timely and efficient manner.
3.  Monitor processing runs for suspended files or dropped batches and rejected items. Make modifications to PEP+ when necessary.
4.  Monitor originating companies for risk limit over exposures. Monitor charge on transmission customers through the Ping/Pledge process and obtain proper approvals from Account Officers or through the FNNI lending committee prior to file submission.

5.  Balancing and reconciling the ACH processing windows throughout the daily run

6.  Escalation of issues or errors to appropriate personnel.

7.  Customer Calls detailing ACH transactions throughout the shifts

8.  Train team members on systems/applications to develop efficient communication and effective backup support.

9. Adequate and Timely delivery of procedural documentation for the department.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business work experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- 1 year support experience or proficiency in business processes or applications

- Strong analytical skills

- Strong problem solving abilities

- Strong Attention to detail

- Ability to multi-task while adhering to multiple timetables of completion

- Self-motivated team player with vision and initiative

- Maintain a regular and predictable attendance record

- Flexibility to cover schedules for out of office scenarios


Additional Qualifications:

- Previous experience in the Banking industry.
- Familiarity with banking terminology and resources (ABA/Routing numbers)
- Familiarity with First National mainframe applications: TSO, Hogan, EOS and PEP+.
- Previous working experience in accounting (Understanding of Debits, Credits and the reconciliation process).

It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs. Training will be fully onsite.
