General Position Summary

As a Senior Full-Stack Web Developer, you will be part of an agile team responsible for the creation, modernization and maintenance of efficient, scalable web applications and websites.

WoodmenLife is looking to add a Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to our team!

We are currently searching for a Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to join our team! This role is required to build web application front ends, API’s and tools that interact with cutting-edge hardware, software and other web services. This position will need to have strong experience in implementation of front-end/UI technologies. WoodmenLife is one of the best places to work in Omaha and has been for many years. What we are looking for:  

This job requires a background that demonstrates the following minimum knowledge, skills, talents, and traits:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering focused on modern front-end web technologies and back-end software components including, but not limited to:
    • React framework, responsive design
    • HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript
    • C# / .Net Core
    • Restful Web Services, API-driven development, JSON, XML
    • Test-driven development
    • Microsoft SQL Server, SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions
    • Database design, ETL, data import, export, and encryption
    • Accessing data through vendor APIs
    • Extensive knowledge of web application best practices, security standards, and API standards
  • Experience developing single-page applications using React framework, web tools (npm, Webpack), unit tests, and testing frameworks
  • Experience with SEO/SEM, web marketing tools and tracking customer journey/experience
  • Experience with Git version control and tools used to manage, review and approve code
  • Ability to work with cloud hosting providers to manage platform, infrastructure and related services, Azure preferred
  • Contribute to design inputs, verification and validation testing and certification of quality software products
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks
  • Ability to work within an Agile team, independently and together, with a deep understanding of Agile methods
  • Experience presenting work to an audience and the ability to receive constructive feedback from stakeholders and design direction from leadership when needed
  • A team player who is passionate about delivering great work and has an eye for detail
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Engages well with others and is passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DevOps, especially pipeline creation/integration and test automation
  • Familiarity with contributing to and managing a custom component library
  • Familiarity with static site generators
  • Experience with static and dynamic code analysis tools
